Following on from my last Blog on habits here is some more help, this time ways to clear your addictions.

It’s not easy to break habits that have become engrained into our life style but it can be done. Well it seems that 21 days is all you need to install a new habit or to break an old one.

You are the only person who can make these changes; there is only you, nobody can make you do anything, you have to this on your own. Right now you are not in control of your life or your body, you may also have found that your willpower has got up and gone, so I hope this will help.

So to get back in control, 21 days is not long, it’s not even a whole month so it is doable….! But, even faster is breaking your bad habits with EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques).

If you are still waiting for your excess fat to dissolve, or your craving for cigarettes, alcohol or chocolate to disappear, then get the hang of Tapping and the 21 days can be reduced to hours.

You can find a chart of the tapping points here and what we say, but you could just try a shorter version, know as Faster EFT herewith;

Decide now just how much you want to use the habit. Say you really want a cigarette and on a scale of 0 to 10, ten being high, you class this as a nine. Remember this, in fact write it down.

Take a deep breath, right from the bottom of your lungs, hold for a count of three and then gently breath out for a count of three, do this again until you are calm.

Now concentrate on the habit you wish to change, for instance “ I choose to stop smoking”, then using your index and middle finger of one hand tap four or five times on each of the points below.

  1. EB           EYEBROW- start of the Eyebrow on the bridge of the nose
  2.  SE          SIDE OF EYE- on the bone at the corner of your Eye
  3.  UE         UNDER EYE- on the bone just below the eye
  4. CB           COLLARBONE- just under the point of the bone

Then, do it again, this time saying out loud if you can “I no longer smoke” or whatever your habit is, at each point.

Continue to do this routine for four or five more rounds and close the sequence by holding your wrist with your other hand, breath deeply and say “Peace”.

Now check how much you want that smoke, chocolate or whatever!

If you are still craving, repeat and do this any time you feel your resolve is weakening. Your scale should be down to 2 or 3 and may have gone completely.

You are now back in control of your life and your willpower has a helper.
