Guiding the lost and bewildered

Living is not easy, but the other option is not practical, and I am always practical!

The following story illustrates just how far we have come in talking about and openly discussing mental health issues.

Lucy (not her real name) was a bit depressed but mostly feeling very scared of the future. She didn’t want to go work or take up further studies and already in her forties, she had no relationship, and her life just ticked on, until in desperation for her daughter, her mother called me.

We talked about her general disposition and her medication, which was none, so I agreed to talk to her on the phone.

We immediately hit it off, we have the same sense of humour, and she agreed to a course of sessions with me to help her find her path in life.

That was a while back and Lucy now has a new job that she loves, she is surrounded by the right supportive people and is starting to see her life differently.

We are not out of the woods quite yet, but each session reveals new ideas, goals and challenges and each one is met with determination and a fresh clarity of thought.

Lucy is one of many, I am sure we all know them; I call them the lost and bewildered, people trying to find their place in a world that seems messy and incomprehensible. This is not necessarily a mental health issue that needs medical intervention, just a helping hand and a little wisdom.

Together we have made Lucy’s world tolerable and even happy, and with each day that passes, she is becoming who she was meant to be…

You may be interested to know that, if you have ANY issue that you are not able to cope with on your own, by contacting me we be able to sort it out together…

I get asked ‘how many sessions will I need’ and it’s not easy to say before we start work, but I recommend three. One to get to understand the issues and learn the technique, two to get to the core and sort out the problems, and three, to sweep up the pieces, consolidate the learning and check that all is well!
