It is a fundamental wish for everyone, that we are happy and suffer less pain, emotional and physical, so how do we achieve that wonderful state of being?
I was listening to a podcast this morning featuring a Dr Jim Doty https://www.jamesrdotymd.com/ Having never heard of him before, I listened with great interest, and it was refreshing to hear another perspective on manifesting our lives and being kind to ourselves.
It boils down to having the basic principles of living in service to others, with kindness, compassion and love, using gratitude to calm and create peace and harmony within and practice mindfulness.
This is not a trite summary it is important and hearing what I teach comes from another person and it reminds me that though my life has not been easy, I can still do all of that. Hence, I am mostly happy.
No, we can’t be happy all the time, it’s not even possible, but we can change any negative or depressive thoughts when we find or remind ourselves of our purpose, and there always is one.
As for me, my purpose has been to learn and teach, which I still do and as ideas change, or new possibilities come to the fore I am genuinely excited to devour everything, test it, use and teach it!
The flash car, the big house, and the new clothes are transitory when knowing why we are here (our purpose), finding the way to serve (love and compassion), and being aware of our good fortune (gratitude) are the permanent parts of us that need more care and attention.
Today remember that you are a wonderful human being, not a human doing.
Know that your soul yearns for you to love more from your heart, you have abilities that you have not yet remembered, there is so much more……and the happiest people are those who serve
Know that you are happy, deep down, you only need to remember that and smile.
