If you are a fan of the film Oliver, you will know this, sung by Fagin….
“A man’s got a heart, hasn’t he?
Joking apart — hasn’t he?
And tho’ I’d be the first one to say that I wasn’t a saint…
I’m finding it hard to be really as black as they paint…
I’m reviewing the situation…..
Recently I have been discussing this aspect of life with a couple of clients, strange but both with similar issues. Being portrayed as the one who did wrong, and finding a lack of compassion in other people, so feelings of isolation and overwhelming sadness ensued.
No one is perfect, and as we go through life there are actions taken, that we may regret, people to whom we have been less than kind and a multitude of incidents we choose not to remember.
But to put this in perspective, there are worst things that have happened, and we have no doubt coped just fine.
Today I would like you to review the situation, and consider the times you have been less than perfect (many) so do not expect perfection from others.
Love them with their flaws, as you would like to be loved. Cherish every moment you have with those close to you, they or you, will not be there forever.
Change the way you react, your emotions are yours, so learn how to control them, that way the unexpected will be OK, and you have time to think and make the right response.
Make some memories this summer and only speak when you have considered the effect those words will have….review the situation….
Diane – love and kindness always…
