During my research for material on ‘Dowsing for Past Lives -the Journey of the Soul’, a talk I am delivering in a few months’ time, I found some information that gave me more to think about; I hope you will also find this interesting.
‘Past lives’ are considered to be the souls reincarnation into a new body, to learn and experience life again and it seems that can happen many times.
The main western world religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam, on the whole do not believe in the reincarnation of the soul, whilst all of the Eastern philosophies do. It seems, the older the religion the stronger the belief that the soul starts again in a new body after death of the old form.
This could be seen as wishful thinking, or a reality that we are not able to comprehend. In my case I dowsed to find my past lives and discovered four; they all seem to be a part of the ‘me’ that I am now.
Many people can remember a past life, sometimes by using regression therapy, or hypnosis, or dowsing, or…. they just know. How we obtain this information is another matter; there is much said and written about the ‘Thought Field’ or ‘Akashic Records’ and some people, and I am one, believe that all our knowledge is stored in the energy that surrounds us. That is how I get the information, when I ask the right questions, as I dowse…!
It’s interesting to consider that our own ancestors may have had the conviction that our spiritual lives did not end at death, but that the soul would move to a new body and start again. How far back in our ancestry is difficult to know, but according to our roots or tribes of origination, we would know, or could learn about, the culture we came from and therefore the customs and rituals of that time.
This bring me to Karma, a Sanskrit word meaning thought or action. All our thoughts and actions have a cause and effect; this is both positive and negative and on each reincarnation, we have another opportunity to get it right, by creating more positive energy and leaving a better legacy when we depart.
“Karma (in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.”
It takes many life times to learn what we need know and to attain the state where we are no longer required to come back a live in the body again. What happens at that point seems to vary by the philosophy; Buddhists and Hindus say that enlightenment leads to nirvana, a view of heaven similar to many other religions. But it takes time to get there……
“Nirvana is a place of perfect peace and happiness, like heaven. In Hinduism and Buddhism, nirvana is the highest state that someone can attain, a state of enlightenment, meaning a person’s individual desires and suffering go away”
Personally, I like this idea and work to retain harmony, peace and love in my life and all those around me, but like everyone there have been times in my past when my actions were less than positive and left hurt and pain behind. So as it is said, it takes more than one lifetime to get it right, we fail and have to start over again, many times!
I still have some work to do, it’s not easy and maybe I will not be successful in this life time, but I am trying anyway……how about you?
