If you have just read my newsletter, you will understand that I have been through some changes to the way I work. These have been time-consuming and mentally challenging but the sense of achievement now it is done is uplifting.
So, all that work was a blessing, a gift to me.
Do you believe in blessings or are they a throwback from the days of religion that you may have left behind?
We know that all religions have some form of blessings, some are done with pomp and ceremony and some just a few words. Babies are blessed, marriages are blessed and more and most people will say ‘bless you’ when somebody sneezes!
If you follow my Facebook pages, after my Thought for the Day, I often say ’have a blessed day’ or ‘blessings all’ not in a religious way but just as a way of sending out universal love.
When we are feeling down and depressed the finest way to overcome those days is to count our blessings. We do have them, but there are times in our life when we feel less blessed and more cursed. Through the times of trial, the difficult days, and through illness or poverty, it’s not easy to see the blessings, but they are there.
We know that happiness is within, and blessings are without…..or in other words we can make our own happiness, but blessings are separate. So how did all my work and changes create blessings?
Well, I understand that what I take from life is up to me, I was happy with what I had achieved and to me that was a blessing. I could feel the blessing, touch it and see it.
We can count our family as a blessing but only if we get on with them and have our love reciprocated. We can count our life partner as a blessing but only until they become ill or incapacitated.
At what point is something not a blessing….not easy is it?
Look for the challenges that turn into blessings, childbirth is one of those, or moving to a better home. You see it’s the way to look at things, see that life is testing us and look for the lessons s they turn into blessings.
If you find this concept complex, so did I once, but I can help you see your blessings, just contact me here for a chat.
