Christmas was, well quiet, as I expect it was for most people. And now we have another lockdown. It has very little effect on me as I am semi-retired, I have a secure home and enough to eat…. that is not the same for many people. And that knowledge hurts!
This new year may not be much different for a while, some will lose what little they have and keeping up self-respect is not easy when you have nothing. For anyone feeling grief or anxiety at this time, know that you are not alone and there is help, just ask.
My thoughts are drawn to ‘what can I do’ this year to help…I need to feel that I can do something.
I have contacts in Kenya and know how tough it is for them without tourists. No job, no income, no food, that is a scenario we in the West seldom see. Though I am very aware that we still have poverty here; children without enough to eat, the jobless and the homeless. Sadly, this is still happening in our society.
Giving to the charities who provide for the poor is one way to help, but I want to do more. The problem seems to be that with the covid 19 situation it is unlikely that I can do much at all right now. Roll on the vaccination program!
Now we are officially a country isolated from Europe, whether it is your ideal or not, it is done, and we have to make the best of it. As always, my advice is to look for the positive, the possibilities and the boundless opportunities that were always there and still will be.
The British were always pictured as a nation of shopkeepers, well not so much now, so if are looking for work think outside of the usual, be inventive and like me, keep your options open.
In the meantime, I will continue to offer support, EFT and healing to all who need it and even those who don’t… and will adapt my business to be better in 2021.
New Year blessings to you
