To start with, the fantastic results from Sheila’s recent sessions will be in the next blog….
Did you know that just being over fifty can create anxiety and depression?
It is like the midlife crisis that 40 used to be, just as important, as the rest of your life still has meaning, development and lots of changes to cope with. Things change as we get older, we can forget that relationships may not evolve the way we wish, retirement may not provide enough money, and as our families grow and disperse, we can find loneliness a bigger issue than we expected.
One of the reasons I am specialising in the older generations is that I have the experience, and like my client, we will call him Joe, who at 60 he is contemplating how to manage his life into retirement and beyond, is something I have personally dealt with and made into a new life. So after a couple of sessions, Joe now has a goal in mind and the tools to accomplish it.
We have options at every turn, but if we see each milestone’s birthday, with the bigger numbers, as sad or depressing, then we are becoming defeatist when really, we should rejoice that we have got that far, not everyone does!
It’s how we react to changes that make us happy or sad, as you know, our thoughts can make us feel either. Dance and sing through later life with me.
